About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with the Industrial Sales team to drive industrial and hazardous waste sales revenue growth
  • Provide customer service and support for internal and external customers
  • Consult with existing and potential customers on transportation and disposal options
  • Assist customers in developing transportation and disposal options for industrial and hazardous wastes
  • Assist customers with testing parameters and completion of profiles, manifests, and appropriate forms
  • Process profiles, contracts, and credit requests; schedule pick-ups; resolve billing inquiries and customer issues
  • Develop economic and practical customer solutions using competitive pricing tools
  • Develop customized proposals and prepare correspondence
  • Build and maintain internal and external customer relationships
  • Contribute to assigned territory revenue goals for Manufacturing and Industrial sales teams
  • Manage existing accounts and customer retention, including profile renewals, regulatory updates, and new service offerings
  • Identify new waste stream opportunities through existing customer relationships
  • Drive new opportunities through written correspondence, collateral materials, email, and phone calls
  • Provide leads to account managers and program managers using WM sales management tools
  • Probe inbound customer calls to identify the appropriate method to close the customer
  • Assist account managers with receivables and collections issues
  • Handle inbound customer calls and referrals from account managers
  • Delegate data entry, manifest preparation, filing, and other basic administrative tasks to Industrial Sales Coordinators
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must live and work in the U.S.
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience with special waste, in addition to the education requirement
  • Applicable regulatory training
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations, DOT requirements, and corporate policies and procedures
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Superior interpersonal skills for internal and external interactions
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to prioritize, apply common sense, follow written, oral, or diagram instructions, and solve practical problems
  • French speaking preferred
