About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support WMRE’s Renewable Natural Gas Regulatory Compliance department to ensure regulatory obligations are met and certifications are maintained
- Coordinate with landfills to facilitate creation of biogas tokens and develop process documentation
- Support EPA registration of landfills associated with new RNG developments
- Quality-check and submit data to the EPA via EMTS and voluntary markets via M-RETS
- Support the RIN splitting process via CNG/LNG dispensing stations
- Stay current with RNG regulations and downstream markets, focusing on landfills and CNG dispensing stations
- Connect regional stakeholders and WMRE staff regarding potential compliance projects
- Pull data and reports from operational and financial databases and format information for regulatory agencies
- Support Quality Assurance Program activities by supplying affidavits, data, and documentation
- Support LCFS Verification and Validation, including fuel pathway data requests, quarterly fuel transactions, and verifier requests
- Update RFS, LCFS, Canadian CFR, and ISCC program registrations as needed
- Coordinate registration updates with business and compliance stakeholders
- Support the broader WMRE organization through ad hoc requests
- No supervisory responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience with RNG, landfills, refuse collection and/or CNG Fueling, in addition to education requirement
- Regulatory experience in the energy industry preferred
- Previous experience with EPA and Renewable Fuel Standard preferred
- General understanding of RNG processes preferred
- Experience with LCFS and RFS programs preferred
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills preferred
- Limited travel required; may need to travel overnight on occasion
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative for air travel or access to federal property
