About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Reduce the overall cost of externally purchased materials, goods, and services while maintaining or improving quality and service delivery
- Use strategic sourcing to identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies upstream and downstream in the supply chain
- Manage assigned spend categories or subcategories through ongoing category management
- Establish and facilitate cross-functional teams and participate in sourcing processes as a subject matter expert or stakeholder representative
- Present sourcing strategy, tactics, and source-selection results to supply chain leadership and key stakeholders
- Execute sourcing events, including RFP development, eSourcing tools, bid evaluations, supplier evaluations, negotiation strategy and documents, supplier performance metrics, and contracts
- Develop detailed implementation plans covering transition, timing, communications, responsibilities, schedules, program utilization, and user satisfaction metrics
- Develop and document savings calculations and other impact metrics
- Determine reporting frequency and report savings
- Manage suppliers, contracts, program utilization, internal requirements, and market dynamics
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal users to continuously improve the supply chain
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Business or a technical field, or High School Diploma or GED in lieu of the degree
- 4 years of relevant experience if using the high school diploma/GED alternative
- 3 years of experience in a supply chain-related position with category spend responsibility of $10M or greater, in addition to the education requirement
- In-depth knowledge of the company's primary businesses as they relate to assigned categories
- Knowledge of historical spending patterns for assigned spend categories or subcategories
- Ability to analyze markets and identify potential solutions
- Ability to develop sourcing strategies and tactics for low- to medium-complexity sourcing events
- Preferred: CPM certification by the Institute for Supply Management
- Preferred: CPMSM certification
