About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct all aspects of a service area within the assigned Sustainability Services healthcare vertical
- Manage operating-unit profit and loss, budgeting, day-to-day operations, ISO programs, service execution, personnel, third-party sourcing, pricing, and business development
- Supervise and coordinate employee work and development activities across assigned sites
- Develop bids, quotes, proposals, and implement identified projects
- Analyze and report financials, collect customer payments, and ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain safety-conscious organizations and oversee compliance with customer/site health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Manage customer service issues and identify contract and service enhancements
- Manage financial and operating performance, including receivables, pricing, invoicing, budgeting, accounting activities, and reporting
- Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to environmental health and safety and ISO programs
- Educate and develop Project Managers and operating teams; ensure training and certifications are completed and documented
- Document and implement best practices and lessons learned
- Direct facility waste management plans, waste minimization, recycling, waste collection programs, and storage-area management
- Ensure proper waste characterization, container labeling, and waste shipment documentation
- Manage programs that reduce waste volumes, improve operational efficiency, optimize equipment usage, and generate customer cost savings
- Ensure routine safety meetings and safety/regulatory inspections at customer sites
- Participate in quarterly and annual client business reviews
- Build relationships with WM Market Areas and Districts to maintain core services and customer satisfaction
- Occasionally perform labor-intensive activities such as drum collection and bulking
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business or related field, or High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- 7 years of relevant work experience in project/business work within the environmental or industrial services industry, in addition to the education requirement
- RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience
- OSHA 24-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
- Proof of vaccination may be required for some WM customers, subject to religious or disability accommodations
- Ability to travel 50% of the time throughout the State of Florida
- REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative required or willingness to obtain one if business air travel or federal property access is needed
