About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop content and assets for print and digital products serving medical education and clinical practice audiences
  • Oversee assigned high-volume products during the development cycle to deliver content on time, on spec, in scope, and within budget
  • Manage product development cycles for textbooks, courseware, videos, and digital assets
  • Collaborate with SMEs, authors, vendors, and in-house staff to develop and refine content
  • Analyze proposals and sample content for market viability and assess SME/author capabilities
  • Perform development editing of authors’/SMEs’ approach, organization, pedagogy, illustrations, writing style, and digital resources
  • Create and monitor project budgets and schedules/project plans
  • Prepare reports for management as needed
  • Resolve quality, scope, schedule, budget, cost, and vendor/freelancer/SME performance issues
  • Enrich products through digital assessments, student and instructor resources, case studies, videos, and other content
  • Enforce editorial standards and legal and ethical content guidelines
  • Evaluate content performance metrics and recommend improvements
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives for digital content
  • Collaborate with Acquisitions, Editorial Operations, Content Operations, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, vendors, authors, and subject matter experts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in academic and/or healthcare publishing
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office and content management applications
  • Advanced editing skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple content projects simultaneously
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with various teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of editing
  • Ability to use metrics to drive content improvements
  • Understanding of legal and ethical standards in content
  • Proficiency in ensuring content quality and consistency
  • Knowledge of SEO strategies
  • Applicants may be required to appear onsite at a Wolters Kluwer office as part of the recruitment process
