About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support primarily the Tagetik business unit in North America, with possible support to TeamMate and Corporate Tax business units as needed.
- Collaborate with business and legal leaders to reach decisions supporting organizational objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by providing strategic insights and expert legal support.
- Provide direct legal support in structuring, drafting, negotiating and managing complex, high-value software transactions, master services agreements and related statements of work.
- Manage partner, reseller, strategic alliance, vendor and consulting agreements with minimal supervision.
- Ensure legal strategies align with organizational goals.
- Innovate processes and drive continuous legal improvement.
- Provide legal advice and strategic recommendations.
- Implement and support forward-thinking legal solutions and frameworks.
- Foster strong relationships with business and GLCD leadership.
- Track and respond to critical changes in the legal landscape.
- Support AI initiatives within the Wolters Kluwer enterprise, GLCD and CP&ESG business unit.
- Report to the Managing Legal Counsel for TeamMate and Corporate Tax in North America.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of 8+ years of progressively responsible legal experience, ideally gained through a combination of employment with an internationally recognized law firm and a global corporate law department.
- Admission to practice law in the jurisdiction where the candidate resides.
- Willingness to travel when necessary or appropriate.
- Strong intellect, excellent legal acumen, including excellent drafting skills, and rigorous analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate with product, engineering, technology, and business leaders.
- Experience advising on the design, development, commercialization and deployment of software, data and AI-enabled products.
- Ability to support AI initiatives, including advising on products, emerging AI regulations and responsible AI frameworks.
- Functional knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies.
- Experience applying AI tools to streamline legal and compliance processes, enhance productivity, and support business innovation.
- Understanding of laws and regulations applicable to the business.
- Excellent communications and change management skills.
- Proven history of working well with and influencing a management team.
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral.
