About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create powerful content for Women for Women International's channels, including the UK website and email marketing
  • Manage public relations and external partnerships
  • Lead global event planning
  • Plan, prepare, and execute communications activity supporting fundraising, brand, and funder activities
  • Identify and execute thought leadership and media opportunities, including press releases, Op-Eds, and thought leadership pieces
  • Manage media and influencer relations and maintain an active database across supporter country offices and regional hubs
  • Identify Ambassadors and Champions and support celebrity Ambassador and influencer content
  • Monitor relevant news conversations and facilitate media outreach and inquiries
  • Develop organizational event strategies and plans
  • Lead editorial content for the UK website, blog, email, and other owned channels
  • Identify trends and opportunities to increase reach and charitable impact
  • Approve UK-channel press releases, email, and print communications
  • Develop fundraising and communications campaign plans and quarterly Individual Giving content strategies
  • Produce copy for Individual Giving acquisition, retention, and crisis-response campaigns
  • Support Marketing Cloud email delivery, reporting, supporter journeys, and audience segmentation
  • Support annual and three-year plans, budgets, KPI monitoring, expenditure, and reforecasting
  • Manage and report campaign budgets and prepare updates for the Executive Team and Board
  • Develop and monitor media campaign goals and performance metrics
  • Deliver communications for fundraising events, funders, major donors, and corporate partners
  • Develop communications plans for funders and corporate partners and identify press opportunities
  • Ensure funders are recognized across website and social media channels
  • Support funder reports and corporate partnership engagement
  • Lead and support Communications Officer and PR consultant delivery
  • Participate in learning, development, supervision, training, and meetings
  • Monitor sector developments and competitor activity
  • Travel three to four times per year for up to one week; no travel to country programme offices or high-risk locations required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Existing and ongoing right to work in the UK and ability to maintain it without sponsorship
  • Passion for global issues, women's empowerment, and human rights
  • Experience crafting media pitches and converting them to earned media coverage
  • PR and media relations experience, including media relationships across the US and UK and contacts at top-tier outlets such as The Guardian, BBC, and NPR
  • Email marketing expertise, including Marketing Cloud, donor journeys, and performance analysis
  • Event management experience, including logistics, planning, panel discussions, roundtables, and fundraiser salons
  • Management experience developing and inspiring staff
  • Excellent written and oral communication, editing, proofreading, and fundraising/marketing copywriting skills
  • Strong computer skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Drupal or other content management systems, and email marketing tools
  • Editorial content strategy and copywriting experience for websites and blogs
  • Stakeholder management experience across global teams, geographies, and cultures
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accuracy under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and manage projects within tight deadlines and small budgets
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to four times a year for up to one week at a time
  • Preferred: cross-channel content planning experience
  • Preferred: supporter journey mapping familiarity
