About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support stormwater and flood resiliency projects from planning and conceptual design through final design, permitting, construction, and closeout
  • Provide stormwater engineering services to public and private clients throughout Florida and across the nation
  • Evaluate, plan, design, and construct stormwater solutions, including flood risk mitigation, stormwater conveyance, stormwater quality, and programmatic funding
  • Perform site layout, grading, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management design
  • Apply 1D and 2D hydraulic and hydrologic modeling systems at local and watershed levels
  • Support planning and design of pipelines, open channels, pump stations, channel stabilization, storage and treatment facilities, multi-benefit facilities, and other conveyance measures
  • Prepare technical writing, client and regulatory communications, permit application packages, specifications, and design plans
  • Support construction administration and occasional resident project representative duties
  • Mentor and delegate to staff-level engineers
  • Manage project tasks and oversee total project delivery
  • Execute quality assurance and quality control processes
  • Collaborate with client and project managers, technical specialists, designers, engineers, integrated operations professionals, and Fiscal Solutions team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 to 8 years of engineering experience relating to stormwater and flood resiliency projects
  • A B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer in FL
  • Proficiency with hydrologic/hydraulic and water quality modeling software including StormWise (ICPR4)
  • Proficiency with GIS tools and applications
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members
  • Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal regulations and standards
  • Knowledgeable in Florida bidding laws and SRF programs
  • Travel up to 20%
  • Employment eligibility verification required for newly hired employees
