About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in improving equipment and process performance
  • Implement ideas that reduce downtime and improve overall productivity
  • Ensure equipment availability and readiness to meet production schedules and throughput rates throughout the plant
  • Maintain uptime on production equipment
  • Diagnose machine problems and troubleshoot equipment, tools, and processes
  • Provide technical support to others
  • Complete equipment setups accurately and on schedule
  • Ensure spare parts are stocked and available
  • Fabricate new parts from raw stock using machine tools
  • Record and maintain performance data for equipment, tooling, and processes
  • Communicate exceptions to team members
  • Provide instruction, education, and support to Manufacturing Technicians and production operators
  • Demonstrate safety awareness and execute safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HSD / GED required
  • Additional training/education, up to and including a 2 year associates degree in a technical discipline
  • An understanding of intermediate math skills including geometry and trigonometry
  • Proficient with various measurement tools
  • Proficient with a variety of machining tools
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Set-up/troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience in a machine based manufacturing environment
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required
  • Experience or proficiency in welding/fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical/electronics, and PLC programming
  • Ability to fabricate machine structures, support members, and equipment-mounting components
  • Ability to dismantle, rebuild, refurbish, or install equipment
  • Ability to read engineering and schematic drawings
  • Ability to repair and lubricate machines
  • Ability to troubleshoot production equipment and facility electrical malfunctions
  • Ability to perform mechanical setups and changeovers
  • Ability to install properly sized electrical services safely and compliantly
  • Current working knowledge of Electrical Codes and Regulations
  • High skill in reading and understanding electrical schematics and translating that knowledge to physical circuitry
  • Experience in PLC and PC ladder logic programming
