About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set up tooling and equipment and optimize equipment uptime throughout the plant
  • Respond rapidly to situations to meet production plans and customer requirements
  • Maintain responsibility for quality, throughput, and safety
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in improving equipment and process performance
  • Implement ideas that reduce downtime and improve productivity
  • Ensure equipment availability and readiness for production schedules and throughput rates
  • Diagnose machine problems and troubleshoot equipment, tools, and processes
  • Provide technical support to others
  • Complete production setups accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain stocked spare parts to minimize downtime
  • Fabricate parts from raw stock using machine tools
  • Record and maintain equipment, tooling, and process performance data
  • Communicate exceptions to team members
  • Provide instruction, education, and support to Manufacturing Technicians and production operators
  • Execute safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe, orderly work environment
  • Perform mechanical setups and changeovers
  • Install properly sized electrical services for new and relocated manufacturing equipment
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable electrical codes and regulations
  • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in production equipment and facilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HSD / GED required
  • Additional training/education, up to and including a 2 year associates degree in a technical discipline
  • Understanding of intermediate math skills including geometry and trigonometry
  • Proficient with various measurement tools
  • Proficient with a variety of machining tools
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Set-up/troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience in a machine based manufacturing environment
  • Additional skills/proficiency in welding/fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical/electronics, and PLC programming
  • Ability to fabricate machine structures, support members, and equipment/tooling/device mounting components
  • Ability to dismantle, rebuild, refurbish, or install equipment
  • Ability to read engineering and schematic drawings
  • Ability to repair and lubricate machines
  • High skill in reading and understanding electrical schematics and translating that knowledge to physical circuitry
  • Experience in PLC and PC ladder logic programming
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer
