About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Actuator Specialty Valve (ASV) and Integrated Support Team (IST)
  • Work assigned tasks to meet schedule and coordinate details with other departments
  • Recognize problems beyond capabilities and seek appropriate experts and tools
  • Learn and implement process improvements
  • Perform routine or conventional engineering tasks using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Perform or write component tests, with small component tests for Level I and some supervision for Level II
  • Level II: Operate effectively in project team environments and communicate with customers
  • Level II: May direct or lead technicians, detailers, and designers
  • Level II: Assist with development of department and organization procedures
  • Observe processes and suggest minor improvements under supervision at Level I
  • Gain exposure to tested products and their basic field applications at Level I

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Level I: 4 Year Bachelors BS degree
  • Level II: 4 Year Bachelors BS degree + 1 Year of experience or MS
  • International: Bachelors BS/University degree equivalent by Country AND 1 year of experience or Masters
  • Basic understanding of industry and Woodward technical standards, including quality system standards and PLC process
  • Fundamental knowledge of commercial and in-house analytical packages, such as Excel and equation solver software
  • Basic understanding of component function and testing
  • Learning manufacturing processes, drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerances, shop standards and procedures
  • Level II: Basic use and understanding of FEA tools and DFSS tools and methodologies
  • Level II: Basic knowledge of engineering quality systems, including PLC, engineering change, and configuration management
  • This position requires use of information subject to ITAR and/or EAR
  • Applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR/EAR, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or Department of Commerce
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic/competent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective time management skills
