About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze and assess student academic and non-collegiate records to evaluate transfer credit
- Determine admission eligibility and course of study requirements for National University degree, certificate, and credential programs
- Prepare timely Academic Advisement Reports and multiple degree evaluations
- Run SOAR Academic Advisement Reports and manually update records to accurately reflect transfer credit
- Evaluate undergraduate and graduate coursework from foreign and domestic institutions, military training, credit-by-examination, and other non-traditional sources
- Enter and update course equivalencies in the Transfer Equivalency System (TES)
- Review and correct transcript processing information and student academic records
- Review student files for scholarship eligibility
- Explain degree requirements, academic policies, and procedures to students, advisors, faculty, and staff
- Resolve student concerns regarding transferability of credit and develop solutions for exceptional cases
- Maintain daily contact with students, advisors, Campus Directors, university departments, and faculty regarding evaluations and academic policies
- Perform re-evaluations for changed degree objectives or additional credit
- Prepare estimates, pre-evaluations, and course equivalencies for department chairs, advisors, and the Committee on the Application of Standards
- Process concurrent enrollment requests, Student Agreements, Challenge/Credit by Exam, course waivers, and program or plan changes
- Maintain current knowledge of catalog policies, procedures, and transfer-credit standards
- Notify the Registrar’s Office Articulation area of coursework requiring adjustment
- Assist Office of the Registrar departments with substitutions, equivalencies, degree audits, and transcript verification
- Participate in department and special projects
- Maintain consistent attendance and perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of one (1) year of record keeping, customer service, or related experience required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience in higher education preferred
- Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to comprehend complex information and apply it according to policy
- Critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
- Ability to make subjective and professional assessments and accurately interpret records against criteria
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Knowledge of academic and business practices in an online environment
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures, including policy updates
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage conflict with student concerns or escalations
- Ability to remain solution-focused while following University policies and federal regulations
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to use email and other technology-based communication media
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity
