About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of People & Culture professionals and develop team capabilities
  • Contribute to long-term People & Culture strategy and annual objectives
  • Serve as a business partner to managers, providing confidential advice and counsel
  • Advise people managers on workforce planning, employee relations, policy and program application, recruitment and selection, and legislative compliance
  • Provide employee relations counsel to managers and employees
  • Oversee and improve talent acquisition strategy, processes, measurement and employer branding
  • Manage recruitment social media recommendations, applicant systems and hiring metrics
  • Collaborate with managers on vacancies, hiring and organization design
  • Lead performance development strategy, systems and coaching culture
  • Provide leadership and guidance on total rewards, compensation, job evaluation and annual salary increases
  • Manage and measure the virtual workplace program and coach managers on leading diverse virtual teams
  • Lead People & Culture change projects using change management practices
  • Support business change initiatives and identify People & Culture implications
  • Ensure accurate data, reports, presentations and trend analysis for decision-making
  • Contribute to a healthy, safe and respectful work environment and comply with WSPS health and safety policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Human Resource (HR) Management, Business Administration, Labour Relations or other related discipline
  • CHRL designation
  • 7 years of Management experience, People & Culture (HR) strategy development and/or service delivery
  • Experience with Ontario legislation and its application to People & Culture (HR), including ESA, AODA, WSIB, OH&S Act and Labour Relations
  • Good judgment and strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience leading and managing people through business transformations/change
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships and work with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle challenging situations sensitively, professionally and with respect
  • Reside in the province of Ontario or National Capital Region
  • Maintain a private and safe workspace and high-quality internet connection
  • Ability to meet at various locations as required
