About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide multifaceted case management services to newly arrived refugee and SIV clients
- Provide orientation to life in the United States to promote successful community integration
- Coordinate permanent housing and furnishings for newly arrived refugees
- Develop service plans and coordinate services with other service providers
- Help refugees access medical care, children’s education, and adult English classes
- Provide transportation to and from core appointments
- Provide cultural orientation classes
- Assist refugees with applying for and obtaining public benefits, including FNS, Medicaid, and Cash Assistance
- Maintain case notes and case files using state and World Relief databases
- Communicate with community partners and volunteers
- Collaborate with Durham program case workers to support employment, financial self-sufficiency, health, and wellness
- Provide case management services for clients in other federal and state programs as caseload allows
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or required by ORR guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Commitment to World Relief’s mission, vision, and values
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Ability to affirm World Relief’s Core Beliefs and Statement of Faith, and acknowledge World Relief’s Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and ability to pass MVR standards
- BA/BS in a relevant field such as Social Work, Public Health, or similar degree
- At least one year of case management experience in a social work setting
- Flexible schedule for occasional early mornings, late evenings, or weekends
- Verbal and written fluency in English
- Fluency in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Skill with Google Suite products, including Google Drive
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong cross-cultural competency and ability to work with clients from varied cultural backgrounds
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and organize in a fast-paced and fluid environment
- Independent worker with strong critical and creative thinking skills
- Passionate, dynamic, and good at improvising
- Dynamics or other CRM experience preferred
- Master’s degree preferred
- Fluency in Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Swahili, Tigrinya, or Urdu strongly preferred
