About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure effectiveness of Strengthening Transferable Skills, Resilience and Inclusive Development in Education and TVET in the listed districts.
- Plan and coordinate sub-county and district-based project activities in consultation with the Project Officer, CCT, Tutor and DEO.
- Plan and implement school-based project activities.
- Develop activity concepts aligned with the annual operation plan, budget and log frame.
- Organize meetings and workshops for teachers and field facilitators.
- Track and manage activity budgets and ensure timely, cost-effective implementation.
- Produce timely, accurate, compliant and quality reports.
- Participate in project management meetings and reflection forums.
- Support district education advocacy initiatives.
- Conduct capacity needs assessments and develop capacity-building plans for teachers and literacy volunteers.
- Mobilize and conduct trainings supporting enrolment, retention and completion.
- Mentor and coach teachers through support supervision visits.
- Build peer mentoring mechanisms for teachers, school management committees and literacy volunteers.
- Identify technical experts and build stakeholder partnerships and networks.
- Support development and monitoring of school improvement plans.
- Participate in coordination meetings and technical working forums.
- Organize partner, stakeholder, teacher and literacy volunteer forums and monitoring visits.
- Facilitate children’s networks and support classroom print-rich materials.
- Support Community Volunteer Associations and build capacities of community volunteers, youths and children’s committees.
- Facilitate and mentor PTAs/SMCs and BOGs.
- Collect, document and report children’s impact and success stories.
- Facilitate establishment of child development and participation.
- Conduct community and peer-group mapping.
- Document Education in Emergencies information, children’s vulnerabilities, indicators, good practices and project success stories.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Minimum of a Bachelors Degree of Education with bias of primary discipline.
- A Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Education management and working with different UN agencies.
- A Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community work and engagement with Sponsorship agencies.
- Must be Computer literate.
- Writing and reporting skills
- Ability to communicate in applicable local language(s)
- Passion for children.
- Track record demonstrating high integrity, reliability, and dependability.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Networking and influencing skills.
- Partnership and Collaboration Skills
- Child Protection skills
- Pedagogical knowledge and skills.
- Must be a committed Christian and an active member of the Church.
- Must be able to RIDE with a Valid Riding License attached to this application.
- School management and /or mentorship of teachers.
- Experience working with communities and teachers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
