About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Greet and assist customers for import operations
  • Prepare, review, organize, copy, and distribute documentation before flight arrivals and departures
  • Travel to the Airport Operational Area to retrieve or deliver flight documents
  • Notify brokers or freight forwarders about shipment arrivals or warehouse holds using the Master Airway Bill
  • Assist customers retrieving documents and freight
  • Collect charges and document payment methods
  • Process Customs Out proof of delivery for every transaction
  • Assist with completing Master Airway Bills for over-the-counter shipments
  • Confirm bookings are accepted
  • Confirm mandatory TSA screening
  • Verify Dangerous Goods compliance with aircraft limits and follow procedures for Dangerous Goods shipments
  • Capture Air Waybill information in airline systems
  • Manifest flights using warehouse information
  • Print and deliver flight manifests, cargo pallet messages, deadload, and NOTOC documents to aircraft
  • Verify post-flight inventory against documents
  • Maintain and file pertinent documents and records
  • Prepare irregularity and weekly import/export statistics reports
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to emails
  • Maintain security requirements under Airport Police, TSA, and United States regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a clean driving record and valid driver's license
  • Must provide proof of the legal right to work in the United States
  • Typing skills with ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm
  • English proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening
  • Ability to perform visual observation and identification and mental rotation
  • Customer service and dependability
  • Responsibility, honesty, and integrity
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and mathematics
  • Comprehension of airway bill import procedures and government regulations
  • Attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to follow instructions from a supervisor or lead agent
  • Ability to work as an effective team member
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Customs seal and a license to drive on the Airport Operational Area (AOA)
  • Office skills including file maintenance, basic computer knowledge, quickly answering telephones, and multitasking
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate moderate to loud workplace noise
  • Ability to stand for periods up to 3 hours without sitting
  • Ability to work irregular hours and/or shifts, including split shifts, holidays, weekends, overtime, and extended hours
  • Demonstrate daily fitness for duty without impairment due to illegal drugs, sleep deprivation, medication, or alcohol
