Air Cargo Operations Specialist
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS). Perform safe and efficient cargo duties through direction, coordination, observation, and hands-on assistance .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform safe and efficient cargo duties through direction, coordination, observation, and hands-on assistance
- Ensure assigned personnel complete duties efficiently and professionally
- Perform export cargo build-up and import/export cargo tracing
- Operate forklifts and ramp equipment
- Monitor dock offload/loading utilization
- Complete warehouse cargo inventory assessments
- Prepare import/export flight documentation
- Accept and distribute cargo according to air carrier and Department of Transportation regulations
- Provide customer service and resolve customer issues
- Ensure compliance with ramp safety regulations
- Load and unload aircraft
- Perform visual Foreign Object Debris checks and inspect aircraft condition before and after loading
- Coordinate cargo transportation between terminals and aircraft
- Comply with WFS safety, security, and air carrier TSA Security Programs
- Monitor and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, and non-compliance
- Serve as a technical operational expert coordinating warehouse and ramp cargo movement
- Provide insight on staffing structures and tasks needed for on-time, safe, high-quality delivery
- Support other customers as assigned based on training and experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Certified to operate multiple pieces of equipment, including Builder, Dock Master, Cargo Screener, Forklift, Advanced GSE, tug, belt loader, GPU, ASU, Pushback, Loader Operator, Load Master, Marshaling, and Tug Operator
- 5+ years of Air Cargo operations experience performing advanced warehouse and ramp responsibilities
- Experience in training and coaching employees
- Experience supporting safety improvement projects
- Must meet customer station-specific requirements
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Must join the Transport Workers Union and pay union dues
