About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Load and unload cargo, including mail, express, baggage, freight, and company material, on and off aircraft
Transfer cargo between ramp areas as required
Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material
Complete forms and messages necessary for assigned functions
Assist in loading, unloading, and racking filled and empty drums
Perform routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities, with or without powered equipment
Assist in monitoring facility security
Comply with WFS site security procedures
Report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, and site-security-plan non-compliance
Load and unload aircraft cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. within confined cargo areas
Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers to or from aircraft
Transport cargo to and from aircraft using a 3,000 lb. vehicle and attached carts
Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to successfully communicate with others
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
Ability to work in a high-noise level environment
Ability to pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt
Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
