About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Load and unload mail, express, baggage, freight, and company material on and off aircraft
Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
Perform ramp transfers of cargo
Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material
Complete forms and messages necessary for assigned functions
Clean and service cabin interiors, including cockpits and lavatories
Drain lavatories and handle, assemble, remove, and install passenger-service furnishings and supplies
Transport furnishings and supplies to and from aircraft
Assist with loading, unloading, and racking filled and empty drums
Clear aircraft windshields
Push out and tow aircraft and perform guide functions
Connect and remove ground power and ground start units
Clean aircraft exteriors with specialized cleaning fluids when required
Clean work areas, ramps, and facilities with or without powered equipment
Assist in monitoring facility security
Report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, and non-compliance with the site security plan
Perform routine automotive repair and service and clean powered and unpowered equipment when assigned
Comply with WFS site security procedures
Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
Perform ground-to-cockpit communication during aircraft push-out and towing
Connect water hoses to aircraft

Requirements

What you’ll need

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to successfully communicate with others
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
Ability to work in a high-noise level environment
Ability to pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt
Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
Ability to load and unload cargo weighing up to 70 lbs.
Ability to push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs.
Ability to drive vehicles with gross weights of 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft areas
Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow
Ability to lift, connect, and remove a 40 lb. KVA electric cable
