About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Load and unload cargo, mail, express freight, and company material on and off aircraft
Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
Perform ramp transfers of cargo where required
Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material at designated express docks
Transport furnishings and supplies to and from aircraft
Assist with loading, unloading, and racking filled and empty drums
Clean aircraft exteriors with specialized cleaning fluids when required
Perform routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities
Assist in monitoring facility security and report breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance
Load and unload aircraft cargo weighing up to 70 lbs.
Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers
Drive vehicles weighing 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft areas
Perform or assist with aircraft push-out and towing functions
Transport cargo using vehicles with attached carts
Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
Perform proper ground-to-cockpit communication during push-out and towing
Connect water hoses and 40 lb. KVA electric cables to aircraft
Service and clean powered and unpowered equipment; perform routine automotive repair when assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to successfully communicate with others
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
Ability to work in a high-noise level environment
Ability to pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt
Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
Ability to distinguish colors red, green, and yellow
Depth perception for driving, positioning, and aircraft push-back functions
