About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Load and unload mail, express, baggage, freight, and company material on and off aircraft
Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
Perform ramp transfers of cargo as required
Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight, company material, export cargo, mail, and baggage
Complete forms and messages necessary for assigned functions
Transport furnishings and supplies to and from aircraft
Assist with loading, unloading, and racking filled and empty drums
Clear aircraft windshields and perform aircraft push-out, towing, and guide-man functions
Connect and remove ground power and ground start units
Clean aircraft exteriors using specialized cleaning fluids when required
Perform routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities
Assist in monitoring facility security and report security breaches or suspicious occurrences
Perform routine automotive repair and service and clean powered and unpowered equipment when assigned
Comply with WFS site security procedures
Pull water hoses and connect them to aircraft
Connect and remove 40 lb. KVA electric cables
De-ice aircraft by spraying wings and fuselage with glycol

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to successfully communicate with others
Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand English
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off
Ability to work in a high-noise-level environment
Ability to pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt
Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow colors and use depth perception
Ability to drive vehicles with gross weights from 3,000 to 80,000 lbs.
Ability to load and unload cargo weighing up to 70 lbs.
Ability to push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs.
Ability to de-ice aircraft at heights of 20–80 feet
Ability to complete forms and read off-load sheets
