About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Load and unload mail, express, baggage, freight, and company material on and off aircraft
  • Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
  • Perform ramp transfers of cargo as required
  • Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material
  • Complete forms and messages necessary for assigned functions
  • Clean and service cabin interiors, including cockpits and lavatories
  • Drain lavatories and handle, assemble, remove, and install passenger-service furnishings and supplies
  • Transport furnishings and supplies to and from aircraft
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and racking filled and empty drums
  • Clear aircraft windshields
  • Push out and tow aircraft and perform guide functions
  • Connect and remove ground power and ground start units
  • Clean aircraft exteriors using specialized cleaning fluids when required
  • Clean work areas, ramps, and facilities with or without powered equipment
  • Assist in monitoring facility security
  • Perform routine automotive repair and service powered and unpowered equipment when assigned
  • Comply with WFS site security procedures
  • Report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, and non-compliance with the site security plan
  • Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
  • Perform ground-to-cockpit communication during push-out and towing functions
  • Connect water hoses to aircraft
  • Lift, connect, and remove 40 lb. KVA electric cables to and from aircraft

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to successfully communicate with others
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand English
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off
  • Ability to work in a high-noise-level environment
  • Ability to pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt
  • Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
  • Ability to load and unload cargo weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with gross weights from 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft areas
  • Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow colors and demonstrate depth perception
