About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Load and unload mail, express, freight, and company material on and off aircraft
Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
Perform ramp transfers of cargo where required
Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material at designated docks and mail rooms
Complete forms and messages necessary for assigned functions
Clean and service cabin interiors, including cockpits and lavatories
Drain lavatories
Check, handle, assemble, remove, and install passenger-service cabin furnishings and supplies
Clean work areas, ramps, and facilities with or without powered equipment
Assist in monitoring facility security
Perform routine automotive repair and service and clean powered and unpowered equipment
Comply with WFS site security procedures
Report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance to managers or through the WFS whistleblower program
Perform aircraft push-out and towing functions
Guide push-back drivers or communicate with the cockpit during push-back
Transport cargo using vehicles and attached carts
Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
Connect water hoses and KVA electric cables to aircraft
De-ice aircraft by spraying wings and fuselage with glycol

Requirements

What you’ll need

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to successfully communicate with others
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
Ability to work in a high-noise level environment
Ability to pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt
Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
Ability to load and unload cargo weighing up to 70 lbs.
Ability to push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs.
Ability to drive vehicles with gross weights from 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft areas
Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow colors and use depth perception
Ability to de-ice aircraft at heights of 20–80 ft.
