About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Load and unload cargo, freight, and company materials on and off aircraft
  • Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
  • Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers
  • Drive vehicles weighing 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft operating areas
  • Position vehicles next to aircraft using depth perception and color discrimination
  • Transport cargo using a 3,000 lb. vehicle and attached carts
  • Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
  • Monitor staff, security contractors, and visitors for security concerns
  • Report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, and security-plan non-compliance
  • Comply with the assigned warehouse site security plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in high-noise environments
  • Ability to work in all weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
  • Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow
  • Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings
  • Ability to judge distances
  • Ability to communicate with others
  • Ability to confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas
  • Must report to work on a regular and timely basis
  • Must join the Transport Workers Union and pay union dues
