Key responsibilities & impact

Load and unload cargo, freight, and company material on and off aircraft
Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers to aircraft
Drive vehicles weighing 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft and vehicle areas
Transport cargo using a 3,000 lb. vehicle and attached carts
Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
Monitor staff, security contractors, and visitors for security concerns
Report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, and non-compliance with the site security plan
Comply with the assigned warehouse site security plan
Communicate with others and report to work regularly and on time

Requirements

What you’ll need

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off
Must join the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and pay union dues
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to work in all types of weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow
Ability to work in a high-noise level environment
Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings
Ability to judge distances
Ability to confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas
