About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Load and unload cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. on and off aircraft
  • Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers with or to aircraft
  • Drive vehicles weighing 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft areas
  • Perform or assist with aircraft push-out operations and communicate with the cockpit
  • Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft using vehicles and attached carts
  • Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
  • Use hand signals and voice commands during aircraft push-out and towing functions
  • Pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from conveyor belts
  • Connect water hoses and KVA electric cables to aircraft
  • De-ice aircraft at heights of 20–80 feet using glycol
  • Complete required forms and messages
  • Comply with WFS site security procedures
  • Report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, and non-compliance
  • Work safely in varying weather, noise, and environmental conditions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
  • Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow
  • Ability to work in a high-noise level environment
  • Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings
  • Ability to judge distances
  • Ability to communicate with others
  • Ability to confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas
  • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis
