About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Move air cargo within the designated warehouse
Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers
Build up cargo for outbound flights
Break down cargo from import flights
Facilitate loading and unloading cargo to and from semitrucks
Operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklifts, aircraft pallets, and pallet jacks
Check freight for piece count, weight, dimensions, and documents when accepting or delivering cargo
Transport cargo to and from aircraft using a 3,000 lb. vehicle and read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
Perform aircraft push-out and towing functions using ground-to-cockpit hand signals and voice commands
Load and unload mail, express, freight, and company material on and off aircraft
Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft and perform ramp transfers
Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material at designated export docks
Complete forms and messages related to assigned functions
Perform routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities
Assist in monitoring facility security and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance
Comply with WFS site security procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off
Ability to judge distances
Ability to successfully communicate with others
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to work in a high-noise level environment
Must join the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and pay union dues
Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings
Ability to use depth perception to negotiate a vehicle with attached carts through congested areas
