Key responsibilities & impact
  • Transport, load, and unload air freight containers from aircraft within confined areas
  • Push, pull, and position loaded air freight containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs.
  • Remove tie-downs and other gear when loading and unloading
  • Read off-load sheets to determine Express package destinations
  • Operate ramp equipment weighing 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft and vehicle areas
  • Position vehicles up to aircraft
  • Engage in aircraft push-out using an 80,000 lb. vehicle or guide the driver using depth perception or communicate with the cockpit during push-back
  • Understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with or without sight or visual aids
  • Move Express packages from aircraft to warehouse to trucks in a cross-dock operation with minimal storage

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Willingness to work beyond standard hours during peak times; overtime eligible per law
  • Valid driver's license
  • 18 years and older
  • High School Diploma or GED or international equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and days off
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Ability to judge distances
  • Ability to communicate successfully with others
  • 1 year forklift experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled indoor and outdoor environments across varied temperatures and weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for an entire shift and move long distances across facilities
