About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage, coordinate, and control all aspects of cargo operations
Oversee cargo operational activities and monitor work quantity and quality
Direct personnel within the assigned functional area
Advise on staffing requirements and participate in discipline, coaching, counseling, hiring, and termination of subordinates
Train subordinates and ensure compliance with company rules, standards, and contractual agreements
Ensure budgetary controls and manning requirements
Communicate between individual customers and the company when required
Monitor assigned employees to ensure customer satisfaction, safety, security, quality, and employee relations meet or exceed standards
Maintain operations in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation
Ensure required company audits are undertaken for continuity and compliance
Implement the site-specific security plan and ensure WFS staff receive and display relevant company ID badges
Administer practices fairly and equitably toward employees, customers, vendors, and third parties
Oversee cargo warehousing, including receiving, dispatching, and staging airfreight, airmail, and other cargo
Operate motorized vehicles related to the operation
Clean work areas, ramps, equipment, and facilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rates and percentages and interpret bar graphs
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Regular and timely attendance
Ability to handle stress
Cognitive skills to set priorities and use independent judgment
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to work in a high-noise-level environment
