About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure
Load and unload cargo on and off aircraft
Safely operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders and tugs
Transport cargo between terminals, warehouse, and aircraft
Connect and remove ground power and ground start units
Perform water service
Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking, and related guide-man functions
Maintain a secure work environment
Report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, and non-compliance with the site security plan
Comply with the WFS site security plan for the assigned warehouse

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo up to 50 lbs or more
Valid driver's license maintained throughout employment
Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crews
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights
Basic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipment
Ability to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulations
Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Must join the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and pay union dues
Ability to lift, push, and pull cargo up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, stair climbing, and extended periods on feet
Ability to work in varying weather conditions, noisy environments, and confined spaces
Manual dexterity for handling documents, operating computers, and using two-way radios
Clear vision and hearing for monitoring flight information and ensuring safety compliance
Preferred: Previous aviation or ground handling experience
Preferred: Familiarity with aircraft types and airport layout
Preferred: Knowledge of airport safety regulations and protocols
Preferred: Experience operating tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts
Preferred: Problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
