About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Load and unload mail, express cargo, baggage, freight, and company material on and off aircraft
Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
Perform ramp transfers of cargo
Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material
Complete forms and messages required for assigned functions
Clean and service cabin interiors, cockpits, and lavatories
Drain lavatories and handle, assemble, remove, and install passenger service furnishings and supplies
Assist with loading, unloading, and racking filled and empty drums
De-ice aircraft and clear aircraft windshields
Perform aircraft pushout, towing, and guide functions
Connect and remove ground power and ground start units
Clean aircraft exteriors with specialized cleaning fluids when assigned
Clean work areas, ramps, and facilities
Monitor facility security and report breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance
Perform routine automotive repair and service powered and unpowered equipment when assigned
Drive vehicles weighing 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft areas
Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
Pull and connect water hoses and 40 lb. KVA electric cables to aircraft
De-ice aircraft at heights of 20–80 feet using glycol

Requirements

What you’ll need

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to successfully communicate with others
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
Ability to work in a high-noise level environment
Ability to pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt
Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow
Ability to use depth perception in congested aircraft areas
