About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and monitor Regional GSE Managers
- Travel up to 50% of the time
- Manage onsite WFS mechanics, third-party maintenance contractors, and location compliance with WFS maintenance procedures across the assigned region
- Complete or coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Troubleshoot onsite and remotely to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, and electrical discrepancies on Ground Support Equipment systems and subsystems
- Inspect, repair, and overhaul mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and hydraulic components
- Disassemble components, inspect quality factors, and reassemble to OEM specifications
- Adhere to environmental safety and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and EPA
- Interact professionally with internal and external customers
- Oversee administrative compliance with company procedures
- Oversee preventative, routine, and non-routine GSE repairs
- Assist local management with oversight and compliance of WFS procedures for onsite mechanics and third-party GSE maintenance providers
- Mentor and train current and new WFS mechanics
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- MUST HAVE Heavy equipment experience for consideration
- Expert knowledge of DEF systems
- Expert knowledge of EGR systems
- History in Airport Ground Support Equipment, or experience in heavy equipment in crane, oil field, mining rail, or maritime preferred
- Proficient in welding and fabricating
- Expert knowledge of CAN bus systems
- Expert knowledge of troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to travel and support 3 or more airports and be badged in them
- Willingness to work weekends and possible split days off
- Ability to work in different locations
- Availability for extended overnight travel
- Strong leadership and organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with customers
- Good computer skills and ability to complete internal and customer forms
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Ability to walk short distances, reach above/below shoulder, handle/grasp documents or office equipment, and sit/stand for short or extended periods
- Ability to lift/carry/move objects, files, and documents up to 10 pounds
- Regular and punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
