Key responsibilities & impact- Troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, replace, test, adjust, assemble, install, service, fabricate, and inspect fixed pedestal and apron drive aircraft passenger loading bridges, baggage transport systems, aircraft ground power generators, HVAC systems, aircraft ground portable water units, related equipment, and components
- Comply with WFS site security procedures
- Monitor staff, security contractors, and visitors and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance
- Order, receive, inventory, secure, or disburse parts and supplies
- Certify the quality of own workmanship
- Work with assigned mechanic personnel to complete assignments
- Follow FAA and company regulations, procedures, and supervisor instructions
- Complete work-assignment forms and communicate with company personnel
- Operate tools and power tools for assembly, disassembly, repair, and installation
- Drive vehicles weighing up to ten tons in congested areas and vehicles weighing up to two tons
- Lift, connect, and remove 40-pound, 200-volt KVA electric cables
- Move and climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English
- Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment up to 100 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, and crawl in tight, restricted spaces
- Ability to work underneath trucks and equipment for extended periods
- Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions
- Ability to work in a high noise level environment
- Ability to distinguish color-coded wiring and components
- Ability to read and interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals
- Must join the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and pay union dues
