About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, replace, test, adjust, assemble, install, service, fabricate, and inspect aircraft ground support equipment and components
Maintain fixed pedestal and apron drive aircraft passenger loading bridges
Maintain baggage transport systems
Maintain aircraft ground power generators
Maintain HVAC systems
Maintain aircraft ground portable water units and related equipment
Comply with WFS site security procedures
Monitor staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance
Order, receive, inventory, secure, or disburse parts and supplies on or off airport facilities as assigned
Certify the quality of own workmanship
Work with assigned mechanics when completing assignments
Follow FAA and company regulations, procedures, and supervisor instructions
Complete work-assignment forms and communicate with company personnel as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Ability to work underneath trucks and equipment for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment up to 100 pounds
Ability to bend, stoop, and crawl to work in tight, restricted spaces
Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions
Ability to work in a high noise level environment
Ability to distinguish colors, including red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, and orange
Ability to read and interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals
Ability to write legibly to complete forms and paperwork
Must join the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and pay union dues
Must be able to drive vehicles weighing up to ten tons in congested areas and vehicles weighing up to two tons
