About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure
- Load and unload baggage and cargo on and off aircraft
- Safely drive and operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders and tugs
- Transport baggage and cargo between the terminal and aircraft
- Connect and remove ground power and ground start units
- Perform water servicing
- Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking, and related guide-man functions
- Maintain a secure work environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo up to 50 lbs or more
- Valid driver's license maintained throughout employment
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crews
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights
- Basic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipment
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulations
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry baggage or cargo up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the airport terminal or warehouse
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and climb stairs
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Manual dexterity for handling documents, operating computers, and using two-way radios
- Ability to remain on feet for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more
- Clear vision and hearing
- Capacity to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work in noisy environments
- Preferred: Previous aviation or ground handling experience
- Preferred: Familiarity with aircraft types and airport layout
- Preferred: Knowledge of airport safety regulations and protocols
