About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Greet and assist customers
Ensure proper documentation and internal and external communication for import operations
Prepare, review, organize, copy, and distribute documentation before flight arrivals and departures
Travel to the Airport Operational Area (AOA) to meet arriving or departing flights and retrieve or deliver flight documents
Notify brokers or freight forwarders of shipment arrivals at the warehouse or shipment holds
Assist customers retrieving documents and freight
Collect applicable charges and document payment methods
Process Customs Out proof of delivery for every transaction before customer departure
Assist with completing MAWBs for over-the-counter shipments
Confirm bookings are accepted
Confirm TSA mandatory screening
Verify Dangerous Goods have been checked within aircraft limits and follow procedures for DG shipments, including abandoned shipments
Capture airway bill information in airline systems
Manifest flights using warehouse information
Print and deliver flight manifests, cargo pallet messages, deadload, and NOTOC to the aircraft
Verify post-flight inventory against documents
Maintain files and pertinent records
Prepare irregularity and weekly import/export statistics reports
Answer incoming calls and respond to emails
Maintain security in accordance with Airport Police, TSA, and United States requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be at least 18 years of age
Must possess a clean driving record and valid driver's license
Must provide proof of the legal right to work in the United States
Typing ability of at least 35 wpm
English proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening
Ability in visual observation and identification and mental rotation
Customer service, dependability, responsibility, honesty, and integrity
Knowledge of basic arithmetic and mathematics
Comprehension of airway bill import procedures and government regulations
Attention to detail and organization skills
Ability to follow instructions from a supervisor or lead agent
Ability to work as an effective team member
Ability to obtain a U.S. Customs seal and license to drive on the Airport Operational Area (AOA)
Office skills, including file maintenance, basic computer knowledge, answering telephone quickly, and multitasking
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to tolerate moderate to loud noise
Ability to stand for up to 3 hours without sitting
Ability to work irregular hours and/or shifts, including split shifts, holidays, weekends, overtime, and extended hours
Must demonstrate fitness for duty without impairment due to illegal drugs, sleep deprivation, medication, or alcohol
