About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Confirm gate assignment and flight details with the Operations lead
Report to the assigned gate 20 minutes before estimated aircraft arrival
Check that the PBB is parked correctly and that the maneuvering area is free of obstructions and improperly parked equipment
Test the Passenger Boarding Bridge before aircraft arrival
Dock and undock PBBs according to SOPs and the docking matrix to prevent collisions
Verify GPU and PCA connection and disconnection with aircraft engineers
Verbally communicate GPU connection and disconnection information to prevent miscommunication
Record flight details and timings on the flight log sheet
Monitor PBB and aircraft cabin-floor levels during loading and unloading
Wait for the incoming group before leaving the area for turnover
Safely maneuver Passenger Boarding Bridges to connect aircraft with terminal boarding doors

Requirements

What you’ll need

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Background check and drug screen required
Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language and be understood by others
Customer and service oriented
Proactive and strong work ethic and initiative, who would like to grow and develop within the organization
Working knowledge of computers and equipment
Experience in maneuvering heavy machinery
Ability to work around baggage handling systems, jetbridges, mechanical parts, vibration, aircraft engines, equipment, and varying noise levels
Ability to bend, lean, reach, stand, walk, kneel, crawl, climb, and frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds with teammates
Ability to lift parts and tools for long periods and handle transportation systems equipment
