About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Load and unload mail, express, freight, and company material on and off aircraft
Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft
Perform ramp transfers of cargo when required
Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material
Handle export cargo at designated express docks and mail
Complete forms and messages necessary for assigned functions
Clean aircraft exteriors with specialized cleaning fluids when required
Clean work areas, ramps, and facilities with or without powered equipment
Assist in monitoring facility security
Perform routine automotive repair and service and clean powered and unpowered equipment
Comply with WFS site security procedures
Monitor staff, security contractors, and visitors and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance
Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers to or with aircraft
Drive vehicles weighing 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested areas
Perform or assist with aircraft push-out procedures
Transport cargo using a 3,000 lb. vehicle and attached carts
Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
Conduct proper ground-to-cockpit communication during push-out and towing

Requirements

What you’ll need

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
Ability to successfully communicate with others
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
Ability to work in a high-noise level environment
Ability to pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt
Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
Ability to drive vehicles with gross weights from 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested aircraft areas
Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow colors and use depth perception
Ability to read off-load sheets
Ability to perform proper ground-to-cockpit communication during aircraft push-out and towing functions
