About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee ramp operations, including aircraft marshaling, baggage handling, and loading/unloading
- Coordinate with ground crews to ensure safe, on-time aircraft turnaround
- Monitor ground support equipment usage and maintenance
- Manage irregular operations such as aircraft diversions, mechanical issues, and weather disruptions
- Act as the primary decision-maker and point of contact during the shift
- Conduct shift debriefings for operational staff
- Maintain communication between departments and airline partners
- Complete operational reports and incident documentation
- Train, coach, and mentor frontline supervisors and staff
- Maintain a safe work environment and participate in required safety audits
- Coordinate with internal teams, airline partners, and airport authorities to resolve operational challenges in real time
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 years of experience in ground operations or ramp services
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of ramp operations, safety protocols, and FAA regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain an airport security badge
- Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays
- Proven leadership managing teams in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of ground service equipment and ramp management software
- Ability to resolve operational issues efficiently and effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams and external stakeholders
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to work in a high-noise environment with appropriate protective gear
