About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage warehouse operations and airport ramp operations
  • Work with internal and external executive-level contract partners to ensure efficient Express package handling
  • Facilitate daily cross-dock throughput from aircraft to warehouse to trucks with minimal storage
  • Lead the team using structured processes and guidelines, prioritizing safety
  • Hands-on movement of packages throughout the facility
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, safety, security, and quality exceed standards for the assigned shift
  • Maintain and control all required operational aspects during the shift in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation
  • Lead, organize, and support staff in a diverse, multicultural environment
  • Coach managers and supervisors in leadership and operational management skills
  • Oversee staff performance and compliance with carrier Service Level Agreement standards
  • Ensure Ramp Agents and Warehouse Agents follow safety rules, procedures, and established standards
  • Support employee relations, including conflict resolution, performance evaluations, counseling input, and termination recommendations
  • Maintain compliance with Airport Police, TSA, USCBP, and FAA security regulations
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad hoc operational reports
  • Complete injury and damage reports
  • Ensure post-accident and post-injury testing when required
  • Provide customer representatives with data and documentation for compliance reporting and audits
  • Maintain employment records and coordinate mandatory airport-related appointments, badge renewals, USCBP interviews, and government-required meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Airline, logistics, or transportation experience preferred
  • 5 years of leadership and management experience required
  • Leadership skills with ability to train and develop personnel
  • Ability to continually respond to and prioritize within a fluid work environment
  • Ability to work across the 24/7 schedule based on business needs
  • English proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening
  • Ability to lift and carry freight weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Basic use of office equipment, including copier, fax, calculator, and POS system
  • Computer literacy with proficient use of MS Office and Kronos
  • Knowledge of advanced arithmetic and mathematics
  • Knowledge of airline codes, prefixes, and common cargo abbreviations
  • Comprehension of airway bills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prepare written documents, communications, and counseling notices
  • Ability to follow instructions from the Terminal Manager and customers
  • Ability to act in a managerial position and direct Supervisors
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varied temperatures and weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for an entire shift and walk long distances across facilities
