About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Screen, interview, and assess warriors and family support members for Project Odyssey participation
- Evaluate mental health resources for individuals or couples not ready for Project Odyssey
- Develop in-person and virtual Project Odyssey mental health workshop agendas
- Manage and facilitate Project Odyssey, including participant selection, activities, psychoeducational workshops, debriefing, and participant removal when necessary
- Adjust workshop agendas based on group dynamics, weather, and vendor availability
- Provide twelve weeks of case management and mental health education focused on resiliency and psychological well-being
- Coordinate traditional and alternative therapy options as needed
- Guide and manage warriors’ and couples’ mental-health-focused SMART goals
- Maintain accurate data in WWP intranet tracking systems such as Salesforce
- Conduct warrior outreach and provide program information to stakeholders
- Deliver programming in a remote environment using technical skills
- Implement LMS, experiential learning, ACT, Gottman Couples Therapy, and family FOCUS modalities
- Lead five-day in-person experiential-learning workshops
- Lead six- to twelve-week virtual mental health workshops
- Manage multiple tasks, deadlines, deliverables, metrics, and key performance indicators
- Attend required training and meetings
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four years of experience facilitating veteran-focused mental health programming or case management and assisting military and veteran populations in support of their mental health well-being and readjustment
- Three years of adult-focused mental health programming or case work experience plus a master’s degree in psychology mental health counseling, human services, social work, recreational therapy, rehabilitation counseling, or related mental health field may be substituted for the four-year experience requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, mental health counseling, human services, social work, recreational therapy, rehabilitation counseling, or related mental health field; equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and certifications may be considered in lieu of degree
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- Ability to obtain ASIST Certification within 1 year of hire
- Ability to obtain First Aid CPR/AED Certification within 1 year of hire
- Ability to travel in support of WWP programs and services outreach
- Ability to engage in highly physical outdoor activities and events, including ropes courses, water sports, hiking, climbing, and horseback riding
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and handle sensitive matters with diplomacy and empathy
- Up to 50% travel
- Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds
