About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and scale validation pipelines processing large quantities of LiDAR and fleet data in the cloud
  • Support design, implementation, and delivery of calibration and validation pipelines and underlying infrastructure
  • Collaborate with hardware and data engineers to validate camera, LiDAR, IMU, and radar sensor data
  • Author SQL-based validation tests for data correctness and coverage
  • Manage the team’s calibration and validation services for robust and predictable operation
  • Improve system maintainability, reliability, and observability
  • Maintain and improve team repositories, including simplification and long-term code health
  • Evolve the team’s Vision library to improve extensibility for other engineering teams
  • Write high-quality, scalable code and workflows
  • Instrument and monitor production systems, proactively addressing issues
  • Operate in a high-velocity environment using rigorous agile development practices
  • Work in a hybrid model with physical presence in the London office three days per week

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Master's preferred
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience writing production-quality, testable, and modular code
  • Experience building and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines, emphasizing reliability, maintainability, and scalability
  • Experience managing and maintaining software repositories, including code reviews, dependency management, versioning, and enforcing contribution standards across multiple teams
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tooling to maintain and improve production service health
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks such as Spark or BigQuery (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with autonomous driving sensor modalities, particularly camera, LiDAR, IMU and/or Radar (nice to have)
  • Prior contributions to shared platform or framework libraries used by multiple engineering teams (nice to have)
  • Experience managing or contributing to backfill and data reconciliation services in a production environment (nice to have)
  • Hands-on experience with the full lifecycle of a validation or quality assurance system (nice to have)
  • Proven track record of improving system observability and operational reliability in a cloud-native or distributed systems environment (nice to have)
