About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and assess network health across RF, IP, and Optical technologies supporting Video, Voice, and High-Speed Data services
- Execute advanced troubleshooting procedures to isolate faults and determine the path to service restoration
- Manage and lead resolution of network-impacting events
- Ensure timely communication, accurate documentation, and appropriate escalation according to standard operating procedures
- Process and resolve NOC trouble tickets while maintaining high-quality documentation
- Drive incidents through to resolution
- Update process documentation and assist in developing new procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Provide clear handoffs between shifts to maintain continuity of operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2nd Shift or 3rd shift; 2–4-week training period on other shifts
- High school diploma is required
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Networking, Telecommunications, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center or similar technical operations environment
- Prior Tier 1 or equivalent experience with demonstrated progression in technical troubleshooting and incident management responsibilities
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, ITIL Foundation
- Strong understanding of IP, RF, and Optical networks
- Experience with L2/L3 protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF
- Familiarity with DOCSIS, CMTS, SNMP, and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Netcool, and Wireshark
- Ability to analyze system alerts, isolate root causes, and resolve complex issues independently during overnight hours
- Clear and professional verbal/written communication
- Skilled in documenting incidents and coordinating with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
- Ability to talk and hear, use hands to type and handle objects/paperwork, and use close vision and focus
