About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze and manage disputes and pre-litigation matters from initial fact investigation through resolution
  • Draft and respond to demand letters and related correspondence
  • Interact with outside counsel, opposing counsel, and firm personnel
  • Respond to non-party subpoenas and other legal process
  • Manage and conduct document collection and review
  • Manage litigation holds and supervise document preservation
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on litigation, ethics, and risk management issues
  • Draft, review, and revise firm templates and policies
  • Prepare training materials for attorneys and professional staff
  • Provide general support for the Office of the General Counsel’s risk management duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active bar license required, in California or another jurisdiction in which Wilson Sonsini has an office
  • 3-6 years of litigation experience at a law firm
  • Experience with professional responsibility, risk management, or law firm loss-prevention matters is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with lawyers and departments across the firm while managing shifting priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, writing, organizational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to excellent client service
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information
