About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage calendars of the Dean and Associate Dean of the Honors College
  • Schedule requested meetings
  • Manage media room and annex calendars
  • Answer the front desk phone when students are unavailable
  • Act as designee for student workers and timecards when the office administrator is unavailable
  • Manage travel for the Dean and Associate Dean
  • Schedule in-house whole-team events
  • Reconcile Honors College expenses
  • Coordinate office responsibilities with the office administrator
  • Assist with purchasing and reconciliation for affiliated units
  • Create Governors Honors Academy course offerings and responsibilities documents
  • Secure classrooms and coordinate faculty evening presentations
  • Create faculty shopping lists and manage academy purchasing
  • Attend GHA planning meetings
  • Organize faculty-requested materials
  • Coordinate student transportation between campuses and for off-campus trips
  • Book off-campus trips
  • Revise the GHA student handbook and medication form
  • Create Qualtrics forms to collect student information, insurance scans, waivers, and signatures
  • Work with deans to modify the course request form
  • Communicate with high schools and parents regarding GHA
  • Assist with payroll
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • One (1) year of experience with WVU business systems required
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
  • Valid US driver's license required; incumbent will drive students to various events and pick up and make deliveries
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Familiarity with WVU, the Honors College, and GHA preferred
