About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the mission and vision of the Offices of Academic Integrity and the Provost
  • Manage a student conduct caseload and complete correspondence within required timelines
  • Administer academic integrity procedures while protecting student rights and ensuring due process
  • Review violation reports, evaluate evidence, and apply burdens of proof under University policy and applicable laws
  • Coordinate academic integrity violation reports through investigation, resolution, and sanctioning
  • Prioritize incident reports for case management and adjudication
  • Support educational and conflict-resolution paths, including mediation, conflict coaching, and restorative justice
  • Compile academic dishonesty and student conduct statistics and create internal and external reports
  • Respond to student and parent inquiries
  • Develop relationships with on- and off-campus partners regarding academic integrity matters
  • Develop and deliver training for faculty, Student Life, students, and other campus partners
  • Consult with the University community regarding academic integrity processes and complaints
  • Serve as a resource for students regarding the University adjudication process
  • Collaborate with WVU offices, including the Office of the General Counsel, and serve on committees and task forces
  • Attend and represent the Office of Academic Integrity at relevant meetings and conferences
  • Lead and guide administrative staff and supervise paraprofessional staff
  • Provide budget input to the Director
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Director and Executive Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Masters' degree required in higher education, student affairs, college student personnel, or related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience is required
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
  • Ability to work independently, use discretion, and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to reason, analyze, and solve complex student behavioral matters and administrative tasks/issues
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and initiate necessary actions to implement a campus-wide student academic integrity office and implement group decisions
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing regarding problems, issues, and academic integrity decisions
  • Ability to maintain collaborative and cooperative relationships with University and community offices and agencies
  • Ability to travel and represent the Office of Academic Integrity
  • Leadership, administrative, and supervisory skills and abilities
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and the web for tracking judicial caseloads and compiling reports
  • Knowledge of student development theory and a university environment
  • Ability to communicate during highly controversial situations using effective conflict resolution skills
  • Preferred: experience administering university disciplinary processes, investigations, dispute resolution, and university compliance
