About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and verify appropriate clinical source documentation for data reporting
  • Coordinate data collection with the clinical research team
  • Gather and extract patient clinical data for sponsor-supplied case report forms
  • Complete case reports accurately and on time
  • Perform data integrity reviews of entered data
  • Maintain research subject records, including medical records, lab reports, treatment schedules, and protocol-related information
  • Update, correct, and revise clinical records while subjects remain on study
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of patient and protocol information
  • Manage backups and data archives
  • Provide data for outside-agency audits
  • Assist with regulatory protocol activities, including regulatory document preparation, IRB applications, adverse event reporting, and IRB communications
  • Abstract data for clinical research needs
  • Attend required staff meetings
  • Maintain knowledge of professional, legal, and reporting requirements affecting clinical data research and management
  • Follow direction for professional development and customer-service priorities
  • Provide program and direct internal and external client support
  • Respond to inquiries and independently resolve low- to moderate-complexity matters

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in allied healthcare, biology, computer science, or other related fields
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing and/or coordinating data, data collection and/or reporting in a research or clinical setting or equivalent
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
  • Skilled at effective data collection and creating customized reports
  • Effective time management skills at meeting deadlines
  • Skilled at using mathematics to solve problems
  • Skilled at identifying and verifying appropriate clinical source documentation for data reporting
  • Knowledge of regulatory aspects of protocol management
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications
  • Knowledge of professional principles and legal, federal, and/or international reporting requirements affecting clinical data research and management
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems
  • Clear understanding of medical terminology and ability to define symptomatology and diagnosis
  • Must meet all qualifications by the time of employment
  • Preferred: research certification such as CCRP, CCRA, or CCDM from accredited organizations such as SOCRA, ACRP, or SCDM
