About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Chambers College's alumni outreach and relationship-building strategy
  • Identify and cultivate alumni across industries, regions, and career stages
  • Conduct calls, campus visits, regional events, and referrals to build relationships and reconnect with lapsed alumni
  • Conduct one-on-one discovery conversations to understand alumni backgrounds, interests, and engagement capacity
  • Build and maintain a current alumni relationship base across class years, industries, and regions
  • Represent the college at alumni gatherings, regional chapter events, and reunions
  • Design and host stewardship experiences connecting engaged alumni with students, faculty, and fellow alumni
  • Maintain personalized relationships with highly engaged alumni
  • Plan and execute recognition moments, including notes, calls, and small gestures
  • Assess alumni interests, expertise, and availability against engagement opportunities
  • Maintain accurate engagement history, interests, and relationship notes
  • Hand off matched alumni to the Assistant Dean for Career Development and External Engagement
  • Coordinate with college leadership and staff to align and avoid duplication in engagement efforts
  • Track and report outreach volume, relationship growth, and stewardship activity
  • Represent the alumni engagement strategy in meetings and planning conversations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, higher education, or a related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience in alumni relations, external relations, hospitality, or another relationship-based field
  • Experience planning and hosting stakeholder-facing events or personalized experiences
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Sound judgment in assessing alumni interests and matching them to engagement opportunities
  • Experience planning and hosting polished, personalized events and gatherings
  • Discretion and professionalism in managing sensitive relationship information
  • Ability to manage a large and growing portfolio of relationships
  • Comfort working with a CRM or engagement platform to track relationship history
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel regionally and work occasional evenings and weekends for alumni events
  • Valid Driver's License
