About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a Strategic Partner-Consultant for assigned units and leadership teams
- Deliver proactive and strategic human resources support aligned with unit and university strategies
- Advise senior leadership and management teams on organizational needs, change, high-performing teams, and leadership capability
- Lead assigned Talent & Culture projects and project teams
- Develop opportunities for Strategic HR Partner Team and Talent & Culture colleagues
- Evaluate and advise on employee engagement activities, onboarding, offboarding, surveys, focus groups, appreciation, and recognition
- Collaborate with Strategic Partner Team, Talent & Culture Centers of Expertise, Shared Services, and internal partners
- Advise leadership on talent planning, workforce changes, talent development, succession planning, retention, and organizational structures
- Coach leaders and employees on performance management, goal setting, performance reviews, and rating calibration
- Assess retention conditions and advise on proactive talent excellence solutions
- Conduct new-hire check-ins, employee experience discussions, and exit interview reviews
- Partner with compensation subject-matter experts and leadership on compensation concerns
- Apply change management practices and align talent with operational and financial objectives
- Analyze unit data and trends and recommend Talent & Culture programs or initiatives
- Build relationships with employees and people leaders in supported client areas
- Conduct leadership coaching and regular meetings with unit leaders
- Track actions related to Talent & Culture objectives and facilitate leadership meetings
- Complete other duties assigned by the Director or AVP of Talent & Culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience in human resources
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a human resources partner or comparable experience
- Demonstrated successful experience delivering strategic human resources support and consultation to leaders
- Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
- Strong strategic planning skills
- Experience leading multiple projects with strong prioritization skills
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with all levels of management
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Consultative approach to delivering human resources services
- Exceptional analytical, reporting, and presentation skills
- Knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Ability to handle sensitive confidential information
- Solid data-gathering and problem-analysis skills
- Ability to apply judgment to solving HR issues and business problems
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR certification preferred
- Maintain a physical presence on campus at least 60% of the time
