About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate or execute material/service procurement and fulfillment activities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost, schedule, and quality goals
  • Manage inventory, scheduling coordination, supplier performance, and process improvement objectives
  • Analyze and process materials/services requisitions in ERP systems
  • Develop or manage RFX bid packages, bid evaluation, supplier selection, purchase orders, and contracts
  • Analyze and interpret statistical data and identify spend/savings opportunities
  • Partner with business units on purchase order and contract execution, review, analysis, and supplier performance tracking
  • Represent company interests during supplier/contractor negotiations and resolve or escalate issues
  • Build relationships with business-unit partners and suppliers and facilitate communication across Supply Chain stakeholders
  • Collaborate with suppliers to mitigate construction risk and manage job-site deliveries and material logistics
  • Monitor supplier activities, material orders, service contracts, deliveries, disposition, and returns
  • Ensure adherence to sourcing policies, procedures, documentation, and master agreements
  • Lead procurement issue resolution, supplier/customer dispute negotiations, and performance issue management at Planner Buyer level
  • Lead cross-functional teams for procurement events and ensure supply continuity for materials, equipment, and services
  • Train business-unit partners on Supply Chain processes as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, technical/analytical field, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate level: excellent problem solving, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Associate level: up to 10% travel and driver's license required
  • Associate level: proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Planner Buyer level: two years of purchasing, logistics, or other relevant supply chain experience
  • Planner Buyer level: contract and purchasing knowledge required
  • Planner Buyer level: strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Planner Buyer level: up to 10% travel and driver's license required
  • Preferred: one year of Supply Chain related experience for Associate level
  • Basic contract knowledge, negotiation, and project management skills preferred
  • Experience with computer information systems, databases, reporting tools, or ERP platforms in a business environment preferred
  • Experience in plant or utility operations preferred
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent preferred
  • Planner Buyer level: procurement planning, negotiation, sourcing, and supplier relationships experience preferred
